Q:
I've a used (1985) Toro Groundsmaster with a 20HP Onan on it's last
legs. I may be able to locate a replacement Onan with similar specs,
but since they are no longer made, I wonder if I am not better off
doing a repower with a different brand engine.
The Onan is a P220G with a tapered shaft, but that end isn't used to
hook anything to in this unit. I didn't see anything mentioned on
your site referring to this combo; do you have any suggestions as to
the best way to go?
A:
We have repowered about every quality machine out there and we have
done that one a fair amount of times before. I can get you set up
with a new V-Twin Vanguard 18 horsepower engine which is underrated
and actually puts out a short 20 horsepower. We also have a
Vanguard 23 horsepower engine. The
installation kit includes a choke cable, throttle cable, exhaust
manifold, muffler. stub shaft kit, oil filter adapter plate, oil
filter auxiliary kit, electrical relay, and bushings. |
